HOME AT MANUREWA.

* LAYING FOUNDATION STONES.

Tut. foundation stones of the new home for children at Manurewa will be laid this: afternoon. For weeks past the contractor have been at their work, and the building has so far advanced that the public will be able id obtain a reliable idea of what it will be like. The home ie delightfully situated. It stands on high ground swept by the Manukau breezes -nd commands an extensive view of the surrounding country. The home, both as a building and as an institution, will be thoroughly up-to-date. It will be conducted on exactly the same lines as before. Children will be admitted irrespective of their parents' religious belief and the homo will therefore b« for the public. Representing the public who have so generously helped the institution in the past, Mr. A. C. Caughey has been asked to lay one of he tones today. The Rev. E- A. Kinvood, President of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, Mrs. Hay, the honorary secretary of the Ladies' Committee, a.nd Mr. G. C. Garlick, the honorary secretary of the board will each lay a stone. ['he speakers will be the Rev. R. S. Gray, secretary of the Baptist Union, and the Rev. H. Knowlee Kempton. A special train will leave Auckland at 2 p.m. to convey visitors to Manurewa. Afternoon tea will be provided.
