STEVEDORES AND OVERTIME. (Received March 5, 10.20 p.m.) Melbourne, March 5. The stevedores have decided to work overtime. This clears the way for hearing the waterside workers' case in their demand for increased wages. Mr. Justice Higgins in adjourning the waterside workers' case on Monday congratulated the employers, the union leaders and, above all, -.he public that the threatened disaster had been averted. He said the shipowners had exercised a wise patience in not taking certain steps which would have precipitated a general struggle much greater than in the case of New Zealand.
