MAIN ROADS PROBLEM.
THE HUTT THOROUGHFARE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday. The matter of giving relief to local bodies in regard to the expense of remaking Hutt Road, engaged the attention of Cabinet yesterday. Mr. Massey afterwards stated that the Government would ask Parliament to approve of a vote of £40,000, on the understanding that the local bodies find the balance of £100,000 required.
