BANK FUNDS LOST.

ACTION FOR RECOVERY.

By Telegraph.— Presß Association.—Copyright

London, March 3. Judgment was reserved to-day in the action in which the Commercial Bank of Australia is suing Cora Minnett, alias Bella Hawker, and Herbert Cowell, alias Herbert Hawker, to recover a sum of £2000, which Robson, the ex-cashier who has just been sent to prison for embezzlement of the bank's funds, is said to have delivered wrongfully to the defendants.

Counsel asked the Judge to say that Minnett had no fraudulent or dishonest intent.

Mr. Shearman, on behalf of the bank, contended that Minnett's career was on the borderland of criminal enterprise, and that Cowell was her dupe. He masqueraded, counsel added, as her brother, and lived in the same house, while she kept him as a dummy director of one of her companies.
