CAR FALLS INTO HOLE.
A CLAIM FOR DAMAGES.
[BY TELEGRAPH. — ASSOCIATION.] Gore, 'Wednesday. A narrow cscane from a serious motorfar accident ocourred near McN'ab la.st night. he County Council is reconstructing a small bridge on the main road, and an excavation 10ft wide and 6ft deep was only shown by a single oil lamp on the Gore side of the excavating. Mr. Gilbert Wise, a local dentist, who was returning from Dunedin by car with Mr. Hood, another dentist, at 9.30 p.m., dashed into the excavation, with the result that Hood was thrown through the wind shield and severely cut and bruised. Mr. Wise re tained hi» seat, hut received some severe bruises. Mr. Wise intends proceeding •gainst the Southland County Council for damages.
