The Australian Workers' Union has advanced on loan the sum of £1000 to the funds of the New Zealand Social Democratic Party for organisation purposes. In Denmark the best cow is considered to be the ine which will pay the highest price per feed unit for the home grown farm products. The cost of the concentrates fed, which have been- purchased, is carefully recorded, and at the end of the year the price realised for the home grown feeds is calculated per feed unit. By the application of the feed unit fofr weeding" out the poor cows, combined with breeding to the best bulls available, the Danes have been able to secure a large average annual increase of milk and butter-fat from each head of cattle in their herds.
