SUBURBAN LOCAL BODIES.

PROPOSED AWARD CONSIDERED.

A meeting of the Auckland. Suburban Local Bodies Association was held in the Auckland Municipal Buildings- last even | ing; the president (Mr. M. J, Coyle) being in the chair. There were also present :~ I Messrs. E. W. Alison' and W. Bloomfield' (Takapuna), W. Handley (Devonport), F. Winstone (Mount Eoskill), C. W. Harris (Mount Albert), P. Spencer (Remuera). T. H.'Bowe (One-tree Hill), W. J.' O'Hara (Otahuhu), G. v Baildon; and E. Carr (Grey Lynn), P. McElwain, and 7 H. A.; Good' (Eden Terrace), R. G. Clark (Epsom), J. P. "McPhail>(Birkenhead).; -.*■„_■

The meeting went itno committee to! discuss the proposed award; of the Auck- ] land Suburban • Local " Bodies Labourers' I Union. ■ A ; resolution was ' unanimously carried :—" That the local bodies affiliated with the association conform to the present schedule of wages." It was also decided to set up a committee, consisting of Messrs. Coyle, Handley, and Baildon, to confer •■ with * representatives ' of the ; union, and report, the result of ; the conference to the association. * '_ ' -\ ■'-;,-.
