DEFENCE STAFF TOUR.
OFFICERS LEAVE CAMBRIDGE.
i'bt telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT. Cambridge, Thursday. The Defence Staff tour was concluded this afternoon, and most of the officers left subsequently. The operations, which have continued for some days, have apparently ended in the blue, or defending force, being driven back on Hamilton. General Godley watched the whole of the ntovemcnts very closely, and will presently make a statement concerning them. Last night, a conference of both sides was held, at which the mistakes made were pointed out and the whole " war" discussed. Much hard work has been done by the officers, who have been working from early morning till late at night:
