"STRIKING OUT ON HIS OWN."
[BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. A 14-year-old boy residing at Lower Putt, Hector Gosse, disappeared from his home on Wednesday morning and has not been heard of since. The boy's mother is anxious concerning his welfare, and cannot account for his strange behaviour. Gosse had about £2 in money with him when he went away, and wrote a note to his mother stating that he was going to "strike out on his own." Numerous telegrams have been sent to relatives in different parts of New Zealand, but up to the present nothing concerning his whereabouts has been heard.
