FISH FREEZING INDUSTRY.
NEW WORKS AT COROMANDEL.
[BY TELEGRAPH CORRESPONDENT, j Coromandel, Friday. The preliminaries in connection with the establishment of freezing works in connection with the fishing industry are now well underway and in all probability the works will be in full running order within six months.
Suitable buildings have been secured at Wiiiomio and will be removed and erected upon the site adjacent to the wharf at Coromandel. Fish are abundant in the Hauraki Gulf in proximity to Coromandel Harbour, and as the syndicate will have its 'own boats a regular supply will be obtained, stored in the freezing chambers and sent away under conditions that will ensure the fish reaching its destination in a fresh state. The establishment of the works at Coromandel will mean the employment of a number of men who, with their "fancies, will no doubt reside here and thereby augment the population.
