EXCHANGE REOPENS.

YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS.

After an interval of a little over a fortnight, business was resumed on the Stock Exchange yesterday. A fair amount of business was done. In the main, the market opened brightly, especially in regard to the larger mining investments. Waihis were don© at 53s 6d, 555, 52s 9d, and 52s 6d, and there was inquiry for Talismans at 435. Waihi Grand Junctions changed hands at 25s 3d and 255. Sellers of Waihi-Paeroas wanted 255, but no buyers came forward. In standard stocks a sale of South British Insurances was reported at 81s. A transaction in Auckland Gas was effected at 28s.
