AN OFFICERS' CAMP.
WEEK OF INSTRUCTION,
The Avondale racecourse will be the scene of an officers' camp from Monday, January 12, to Saturday, January 17. Territorial officers wjll undergo an obligatory six days' course of instruction and senior cadet officers a voluntary course. The following officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and non-commissioned officers of the permanent staff have been detailed for duty at this camp:— tains C. L. Hawkins (camp commandant), A. B. Morton (camp adjutant), J. A. Wallingford (musketry instructor), H. C. Nutsford, H. L. de F. Garland, F. A. Wood, W. W. Alderman; Lieutenants H. Peacock, G. E. Daniell; one quartermas-ter-sergeant; and 12 sergeant-majors. The next qualifying examination for promotion for officers of the territorial and senior cadet forces will be held at Auckland, Hamilton, and Whangarei on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, February 17, 18, and 19. Candidates will not be allowed to present themselves for examination unless they have attended the obligatory course at Avondale.
