THE AMBRYM ERUPTION.
NEW ISLAND SPRUNG UP.
Pabis, December 30. Thb French Resident in the New Hebrides announces that it is now possible to approach Ambrym Island, where volcanic eruptions occurred on December 24. Showers of cinders are falling, and lava is streaming down the mountain side*. The Resident also reports that in addition to the changes in the coastline which have resulted from the outburst, a "new island has sprung up off Dip Point on the west coast.
