Murella won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 2m 35 2-ss. * GRAND STAND PLATE. — Radnor 1, Artesian 2, Saturate 3. Four started. In a great finish Radnor won by half a-head. Time, 2m 40s. ■ / VICTORIA AMATEUR TURF CLUB. BIG INCREASE OF STAKES. By Telegraph Press Association— (Received January 5, 10.55 p.m.) Melbottrih, January 5. The V.A.T.C. Committee has decided to increase (he stakes for the Caulfield Cup from £4000 to £5000: for the Futurity Stakes of 1916. from f2500 to £3000: for the Caulfield Guineas, from £2000 to £2100: and for the Australasian Steeplechase, from £1500 to £1750. Additions to minor events make the total increase £3500.
