When the troops fled across the United States border, the officers shot a number of their men dead for refusing to obey orders. Small reinforcements came to the relief of the Federal army, but these were attacked by the rebels, and the final stages of the battle are now proceeding in the trenches around Ojinaga. Mr. J. Lind, the personal representative of President Wilson, has left Vera Cruz on his return to meet Mr. Wilson and discuss the political situation -of Mexico.
