CONFERENCE AGREES. MATTER AGAIN DEFERRED. [BY TILEGRAPn.—SrECIAL CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Friday. The report of tho conferenco of managers of the Legislative Council and House of Representatives on the sub-clause added by the Council to clause 22 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Bill (affecting the right of the Auckland City Council to run lotor 'buses) was presented to the House t- -night. The report stated that the conference had agreed to the sub-clause amended by the interpolation of tho following: "The establishment and maintenance of a motor service for the purpose only of serving areas not served by, or not adequately served by, the tramway shall not' be deemed to be in contravention of the provisions of this sub-section, notwithstanding that part of the course of such service is through streets in which the said tramway is laid, and which are served by tho tramway." Tho Hon. A. L. • Herdman moved that the report of the conference bo agreed to. Some discussion took place on the matter', and eventually the debate was adjourned.' The report of the conference, on being presented to tho Legislative Council, was adopted. tfOINT CHEVALIER SERVICE. POWER FOR ROAD BOARD. I.BY TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Friday. The Government lias inserted a clause in the "Washing Up" Bill, giving power to the Point Chevalier Road Board to establish a service for tho conveyance of passengers and goods within that district, or. with the, consent of any neighbouring local authority, between its own district and that of such neighbouring district.
