ML EDEN HOUSE VISITED. ;.'X;t; JEWELLERY STOLEN. MISSING GOODS VALUED AT £40. I ' :: Thieves are apparently still operating in the city and suburbs. A residence in Mount Eden Road, occupied by Mrs. ■ : Newton, is the latest place to be visited, i;the intruders entering the house on There- .': -.'.-day and stealing money and jewellery to v the value of about £40. ■ '. * Mrs. Newton left the house at about : noon on Thursday, leaving some of the ' windows open. On her return at about 10 p.m. she discovered that the house had been ransacked during her absence. A •search revealed "the fact that a small sum : of money, including 2s that had been wrapped up in a bill, and jewellery valued at about £40, had been stolen. Entry •..■' to the house had evidently been gained by • one of the windows. A new portmanteau r which was also stolen, had apparently teen used to carry away the jewellery.
