Berlin, December 10. The relations of Britain and Germany were touched upon yesterday by Herr von Bethmann Holhveg (Imperial Chancellor) during the course of a speech in the Reichstag. He stated that Germany's good relations with Britain found expression in the. London Conference, which future ages would remember with gratitude.
Negotiations for the removal of difficulties in the building of the Bagdad railway had made considerable progress. He added that Ger-many-held the same views on Turkey's future as Sir Edward Grey (Foreign Secretary) and Mr. Asquith (Premier), viz.—the preservation of territorial integrity on the basis of internal reform.
The speaker said further that in order to avoid economic and colonial conflicts, and permanently to keep their mutual relations in tranquil paths, Germany and Britain were negotiating on African questions. The rights of others would be fully respected by the two Governments, which were working for a fair compromise in connection with the in- , terests of both countries. j
