London, September 17. In the final match of the English cricket season, the Best of England made 266, and the combined elevbn of Kent and Yorkshire 154 and 67. Barnes, in the second innings, took seven wickets tor 20 runs. The leading averages for thd season just closed are:— Batting: Mead (Hampshire), 2627 runs, average 50.61; Hobbs (Surrey), 2605, 50.09; G. Gunn (Notts), 1697, 49.91; Kidd (Middlesex), 1011. 49.57; Lionel Tennyson (Hampshire), 832, 46.22; J. W. Hearae (Surrey), <5030, 44.26; Tarrant (Middlesex), 1630, 40.75. Bowling: Barnes (Staffordshire), 35 wickets, average 10.02; Blythe . (Kent), 167 wickets, 16.34; Drake (Yorkshire), 116 wickets, 16.93; Tarrant (Middlesex), 136 wickets, 17.08.
