DROWNED FROM A LAUNCH.

COROMANDEL PARTY'S FATE.

SECOND BODY RECOVERED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Coromandel, Monday. While Mr. Angus Denize was riding along the Pungapunga Beach last evening, he found the body of S. W. P. Peddle. He at once reported the find to Mr. Thomas Peddle and rode into Coromandel and reported to the police and coroner.

An inquest was held at Whangapoua this afternoon before Mr. B. Johnson, J.P. (coroner) and a jury. Evidence was given by Angus Denize as to finding the body. Mr. Thomas Peddle, nephew of the deceased, identified the body as that of his uncle, Samuel Walter Perry Peddle, and related how his uncle left in their launch, having every confidence in the searworthiness of the Enterprise and the capability of Mr. Brown to work the launch. Miss Smith, postmistress, who was the last to see the deceased alive, stated how she had warned the deceased against going across the bar, as the sea was too rough. Constable Spellman also identified thAbody as that of the deceased.

The jury returned a verdict to the effect that the deceased met his death by the accidental capsizing of the launch Enterprise while crossing the Whangapoua Bar. The 15-months old son of Mr. A. Sanderson has died from the result of severe scalding received 12 days ago. Mrs. Sanderson was preparing his bath, and during her short absence he fell in head first. Despite the attention of three medical men, he died from shock on Sunday afternoon.
