MAIL SERVICES UPSET.

ELECTRICIANS ON STRIKE.

AGAINST NON-UNIONISTS.

LONDON BUILDING CRISIS,

Br Telegraph— Association—Copyrignt.

(Received August 26. 10.10 p.m.)

London, August 26. The electrical fitters and their assistants, employed by the Admiralty, have struck as a protest against, the employment of non-union painters. Seven hundred electricians in the post office and hundreds of employees in the works department of the office have struck in sympathy. The mail services are disorganised in consequence. Over 10,000 skilled workers in the building trades of London have struck, and possibly another 50,000 labourers will join them. Earl Beauchamp (First .Commissioner of Works) has refused to advance the wages of labourers under the Board of Works, and has suggested arbitration to settle the dispute. There is little chance of the men acquiescing.
