FERRY BOAT ENGINEERS.

No change has been made in the hours of labour, which remain at 62£ per week, but no engineer is to be employed for more than 12 hours in a day without being paid overtime rates, which are increased from Is 4d to Is 6d an hour. All engineers are to have rt least one Sunday off duty in every .six, and the number of holidays on full pay has been increased from eight to ten days annually after one year's service. The award will hold good for three years, and will come into operation on September 1. .
