CHORAL SOCIETY'S APPEAL.

[BY TELEGRAPH.-—PBESS association.] Wellington, Tuesday. Judgment was delivered by His Honor Mr. Justice Sim in the Supreme Court yesterday in a case in which the Royal Wellington . Choral Society appealed against' the decision of Mr. Riddell, S.M., in regard to a claim for £10 10s made against the society by Philip Newbury as the balance due for singing on June 4, 1912. The society had agreed to pay 25 guineas, hut only paid 15 as Mr. Newbury did not appear at rehearsals, and the magistrate gave judgment for the amount claimed. His Honor held that respondent was entitled to 21 guineas and allowed the appeal so that the cast* could be remitted to the Magistrate's Court and judgment entered for the respondent for six guineas with the oosts fixed by the magistrate.
