YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS.

BUSINESS was quiet on the Stock Exchange yesterday. In mining lines Waihis changed hands at 475, and further buyers remained at 46s 9d and sellers at 47s 6d. Talismans were in demand at 41s 6d, but sellers held for 425. There were buyers of Waihi Grand Junctions at 21s 9d and sellers at 225. Several parcels of Ross Goldfields were sold at from 12s lOd to 12s 6d to 12s. In standard stocks there were buyers of Bank of New Zealands at £10 8a 6d and sellers at £10 13s. National Banks were inquired for at £5 ss, but there were no declared sellers. Auckland Gas were done at 28s, and more were available at that figure, but buyers did not advance beyond 27s 6d. New Zealand Portland Cements were done at (16s 6d).
