BOY SCOUTS' RELAY RACE.

Washington, June. 24. American boy scouts are now carrying out a remarkable relay race from Washington to Chicago, a distance of 775 miles. They are the bearers of a message from President Wilson.

There are 775 boys, who each runs a mile and then hands the despatch over to the next scout waiting ready to receive it.

The race started at noon to-day, and it is expected that the President's message will reach Chicago at noon on Saturday. The boys are running night and day, and at night time they are being paced with motor-cars. Each of the participants is to receive a souvenir of the event.
