PONSONBY DRUIDS.
SUCCESSFUL "AT HOME."' The Ponsonby Lodge of Druids has expended the sum of £1400 on extensive alterations to its lodge building, situated in North Street, Newton, and now has the satisfaction of possessing a remarkably convenient and well-designed building. Ad now altered the building consists of a new lodgeroo'm to seat 250 members, a social hall seating 500 with a stage and retiring rooms, cloato rooms, and all conveniences, and a supper-room in the basement capable of seating 300 people. The building also contains commodious committee rooms. The lighting is by electricity. To mark the occasion of the reopening of the building, an "At Home" was given last evening by the executive officers to their brethren arid friends, and about 400 availed themselves of the invitation. Bro. Wheeler, A.D., and Bro. Blorailslil. P.D.G.P., welcomed those present, and introduced Bro. Wiglitman McCombe, who supervised the presentation of an enjoyable programme. Vocal items were rendered by Miss Laura Walker, Miss Gladys Fowler Bro. T. Brough, Mr. Gordon Eadv, and Mr. F. Adeane. Bro. W. McOombe contributed Scotch ,: items, and Miss Daisy McPlierson danced a sailor's hornpipe and a skipping dance. All the items were exceptionally well rendered, and encores were the order of the evening. Mr. W. Purcell was an efficient accompanist. After supper had been served, dancing .was commenccd. ,
