DOMINION'S FINANCE.
■«s'• ■ During the course lof an interview with a Herald representative on Saturday on the subject of the Dominion's finances, the Hon. W. Fraser referred to the fact that when the present Government took office promises ■; involving £675,000 for various works, had been made to local bodies, and that there was only £17,000 in the Treasury wherewith to provide for the payment of the money promised. Mr. Fraser points out that the £675,000 was loan money promised to local bodies.
