Business done yesterday. Business on the Stock Exchange yesterday remained slack. The only offer for banking stocks was a bid of £11 5» for New Zealands. No sellers were offering in banking lines. In insurance lines New Zealands were wanted, at £5 Is, sellers held for £5 3s. A sale of South British took place at 75s 6d, and more were on offer at that price, with buyers at 755. Standards were still in demand at 31s, without declared sellers. Northern Coals were done at lis 2d, with further buyers at that figure. A sale in Auckland Gas was reported at 30s 6d. Closing sellers quoted 30s 6d, and buyers 30s. Northern Steams were also reported as gold at IBs 3d, with further buyers at 15s 2d. Buyers of Wilsons Portland Cements advanced to 29s 9d, with sellers at 30s. In mining lines Waihis were disposed of at 31s 6d. There was further demand at a similar price, with sellers at 31s 9d.
