EMPIRE TRADE COMMISSION
ARRIVAL OF MEMBERS. SITTINGS OPEN TO-DAY. [BT TELEGRAPH.KRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dvnedxx, Monday. The following members of the Empire Trade Commission arrived by special train from Invercargill at 10.45 p.m.:—Sir E. Vincent, Sir H. Rider Haggard, Sir A. Bateman, Messrs. W. Lorimer, T. Garnett, J. Tatlow (representing the Mother Country), and Mr. D. Campbell (Australia). The Hon. E. R. Bowring (Newfoundland) has just arrived in Perth, and will probably join the Commission in about 10 days. The Hon. G- Foster (Canada) is coming direct, from Vancouver, and will join the Commission in the North Island, Sir R. Solomon (South Africa) will not attend the "V-'ngs in New Zealand. Messrs. H. &. Gore and J. 8. Gray will act as official reporters in New Zealand. On arrival at Bluff the Commissioners received a wireless message from the Hon. H. I). Bell (Minister for Internal Affairs), and also a telegraphic message from the Prime Minister.
To-morrow morning the Commission will open its sittings at half-past ten o'clock, and will take the evidence of members of the Chamber of Commerce.
The Commissioners were welcomed here by the Hon. J. R. Sinclair, the New Zealand representative on the Commission. They expect to conclude the Dunedin sittings oil Friday.
