DEVONPORT YACHT CLUB.
RACE TO HOOK'S BAY.
The Davonport Yacht Club's race to Hook's Bay on Saturday, in Class A, provided a very interesting contest. From the outset, the Marang-i assum«l the lead, but only to be displaced shortly afterwards by tho Aril;;. Then the Torangi crept up, and the Ma ran gi had to ho content with third place. In this order the three vessels reached Hook's Bay. the Waione, which was only two seconds be'iind the Marangi. being fcurth. On corrected times, the Kotiri is placed first, with the Marangi and the Waiona second and third respectively. The Jorangi wis fourth and the Ariki fifth on corrected times. THE KEAN CUP. Considerable interest was evinced oil Saturday by the owners of the smaller yachts, in tho race between 22-footers for the Kean Cup. After an interesting contest, the race was won by the Arcadia, the same vessel being also the winner on corrected times. There is, however, some difficulty concerning the question of fair-play men, and should the Arcadia bo disqualified, the Kean Cup will go to the Hetty. The finishing times for tho race are as follows:—Arcadia, 5h Om 41s; Ngira, oh Om 455: "Waima, 5h 1m 395; Venue, 51i 5m 21s: Hilda, 5h 5m 31s; Mowai, 5h 5m 595; Acacia, 5h 6m 17s; Dulcie, 5h 7m 8s; Sylvia, 5h 10m 46;;: Hetty, oh 11m 2s; Winnie, 51i 11m 17s; .Tack, 5h 11m 40s. VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB. The Club's yacht races on Saturday afternoon passed off very successfully. The racing generally was good, and aorno keen contests wero witnessed. Results of the club's class races are as follows:— Class I.: Pandora 1, Colma 3, Mahiki 3. Class ll.—Foam 1, Calypso 2, Waiter© 3. In Class 111. the committee are considering a dispute.
