At last night's meeting of the Waihi Borough Council a letter was read fromj the clerk of the Coromandel County Council intimating that, two delegates had ; been appointed to attend the conference of local bodies, to be held in Waihi during March, with a view to considering the question of providing aid for the more systematic prospecting of the auriferous belt" of the Hauraki Peninsula for gold /; .and other precious metals. .
