THAMES REUNION.
Sir, —I notice in your issue this morning in your account of abovo "that thousands of people "were allured to the Thames by Captain Richards's telegram from tho Caledonian ' gold and no mistake."' This is not the fact, as all the rich rock was taken out of tho Caledonian mine (before Captain Richards look charge) under the management of Mr. Wm. Rowe, known to old-timers as "Billy Rowe." Captain Richards's telegram turned out to 'bo a 41 mistake," as tho glory of the Caledonian mine had departed before he took charge. ' Tho shares at one time wore worth £225, and dividends up to £25 per share were paid every two weeks for several months. Jas. Smtob, a Sixty-ni'ner. February 17, 1913.
