SOCIETY OF FRIENDS.
The Society of Friends have not been slow to take advantage of their newly-opened meeting-house in Mount Men Road. A well-attended conference, at which many of the old members of the society who came to Auckland lor the opening ceremony were present; was held during yesterday afterCon. Matters pertaining to the welfare of the society were discussed. In the evening an instructive and interesting lecture on " Patriotism and Evolution" was delivered to an appreciative audience by Mr. W. H. F. Alexander.
