TERRITORIAL CHAPLAINS.
PRESBYTERY'S COMPLAINT.
"ANGLICAN CHURCH TAKING
CHARGE."
"I do not know how it is, but the Anglican Church seems to be taking charge of all chaplaincy work in the territorial army," said a speaker at a meeting of the Auckland Presbytery last night. ; ' The Rev. I. Jolly said that the Presbyterian Church in Auckland had not taken the part it should have done in securing the recognition of Presbyterian chaplains. In the Auckland province, indeed, the Anglican Church was " running the territorial camps." Another speaker said that a local Anglican clergyman was looked upon as the senior chaplain for the whole of the Auckland province. That was quite a wrong assumption on the part of the non-episco-pal churchmen. The senior chaplain of the Presbyterian Church had as much authority as the senior chaplain of any other denomination.
Another member said that he had been, informed by Colonel Logan that all denominations had an equal rank in chaplaincy work. ■ _ . After further discussion it was decided to call a meeting of the Presbyterian chaplains in Auckland to make the necessary arrangements to secure their full recognition as chaplains in military camps. ■
