SCABIES.
Sciittis should not bo treated by irrir tant ointments. The adoption of the following method is urged. The patient is instructed to take a thorough bath, after which sandsoap is to be used upon the tougher portions of the integument. Powdered washed sulphur is then rubbed over the entire skin surface. Sulphur .should . also be placed between the bed:sheets and shaken so as to evenly distri;,fete the powder. Thus should "be re"repeated for several nights, a cure being usually effected in a week. It should to used as a prophylactic measure whenever an individual is exposed to scabies. ; A WONDERFUL DISCOVERY. Some years ago Professor Arthur Keith showed "at a demonstration some remark- • able advances on the structure, function, ; and diseases of the heart. The most re- : markable of these is a small mass of lesion ft the site where the beat of the heart has ><» origin. This was further investigated yoy other men, and lately Dr. Trevar, of Japan, discovered that in tho human heart, W in that of all mammals, there existed a jWmarkable system of peculiar muscle |SbreS. The system is plainly visible to the .;.naked eye, and its peculiar*branches have •/already been seen by anatomists, but the ;j«scover v that they formed a tree-like sysswffl, with roots in'the auricles in tho heart |,;ted branches in the ventricles, was i<»-.i'Wrved-for a voting medical visitor from Japan.
