REMUERA CHILDREN'S HOME.

Sir,— Clu-istmaa season again., draw* '■ near, and once again it is my privilege,to l; ask your courteous help (which has been to : readily afforded on many occasions)..^ in *■ ■■} bringing under the notice of your readers ['■ tho needs of the Romucra Children's -Home. / : The work of this home has now been carriedv ;: on continuously for 19 years, and dating ally./; this time has been supported mainly by the kind-hearted citizens of Auckland, _ with ~:■ others scattered in various parts j of the Dominion. It is entirely : unsectarian, , and.-, ■ at present provides home and Christian ; training for 40 "orphan and destitute children. Wo receive no Government subsidy, \ and though at times our money treasury , has ' been quite exhausted, the generoushearted have always come to our rescue when called upon. ; # ■ v r ! At this Christmas aeason, as is our wont, we appeal to all who love the children and' , v are in sympathy with our. work, to send us S; a Christmas gift. The matron at the home I will gladly receive parcels, or these may-be' left with Messrs. Dadley and Son, or the' , Tonson Garlick Co., Ltd., Queen-street. ;; Contributions in cash (small or large), 5 ad- - ; dressed to the undersigned, will be promptly v ; acknowledged. , '■'~ It has become urgently necessary for: •us ; to remove our family' to more commodious a premises, and a number of business men fin ,t, the city have combined and purchased seven' acres of land at Manurewa, at a cost of.; £500, which they have '".' presented ,to the i trustees. Already we have received a most - generous response to our appeal on behalf i. of the building fund, but require yet some ; £4000 to enable us to-complete the task wo i have taken in hand.
