I have heard that a book on Latin Erose, partly written by ono ot . the masters at Clifton, was at one urn© used at the Auckland Grammar School. tt it not time that we discontinued this habit, and used only books written bv local m £ n ' The pernicious influence of the English tc.tcher may be spread by the use of books ■written by him as well as by importing him to teach in our schools. II wo are to lceeo our schools entirely free from this taint we ought to see that all books, _ written by any but New Zealanders aro rigidly excluded from our midst. » Surely our otto men could write much better books than those written by English teachers.
