PONSONBY CLUB'S RACE. / Tho yachting soason will bo formally opened this afternoon when tho PonsonbvYacht and Launch Cruising Club will hold I a cruising raeo to Islington Bay for yachts and launches. The course will bo from, clubhouse St. Mary's Beach, round black buoy off Brown's Island, tho finishing point being between tho marie boat and dinghy m Islington Bay. Tho distance is nino and a-lialf knots. Tho yacht raco will start aft 2.45 o'clock, and tho launch event a-quarter of an hour later. Rcicently several paint brushes and a quantity of paint wero stolen from tho launch, Haku, hauled up at Queen's Parade. , Tho new launch, , Canadian, moored at Stanley Bay, was visited, but nothing was taken.
