STILL SEEKING A LEADER. [BY TELEGRAPHSPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Friday. It- is stated on good authority that at a caucus of • the Opposition Party held a few days ago the position of leader was formally offered to Sir Joseph Ward, and refused by that member. •
It is further reported that Mr. G. W. Russell (Avon) signified his willingness to fill the vacant position, but that his offer wa£ not accepted.
