ALLEGED THEFT OF POSTAL PACKET.

YOUNG MAN ARRESTED, (BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton, Friday. A young man, named Ray Oliver Taylor, alias Reginald Taylor, was arrested at Frankton last night by Detective Hollis, of Auckland, on a charge of theft of a postal packet, the property of Ray Taylor, of Karaka, near Runciman.

Accused was in tnc> employ of Mr. Hall, at Karaka. In January last a registered postal packet was delivered at the house, addressed to Ray Taylor. Accused is alleged to have obtained possession of this, which contained a bangle, a £1 note, and a letter, which he is said to have retained. Ho disappeared shortly afterwards, ' and was arrested last night, after ten months* liberty. Accused appeared at ' tho Court this morning, and was remanded to Auckland.
