Representatives of the Incorporated Society of Meat Importers complained of the substitution of inferior foreign meat in English shops for the Australian and New Zealand products. They commended the Christchurch Meat Company's metal labelling. They stated that a large quantity of " best Canterbury" lamb was sold in West End as "best English."
