A DESTITUTE WIFE.
LETTERS BUT NO MONEY. Ax application was made by Gertrude Alice Edgar, at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday, for a maintenance order against her husband, Robert Edgar, a. labourer. She explained that sho had been married to tho defendant for about eight years, and had no children. For tho past, two months she liad been practically destitute, though her brother did his best to minister to hor needs.
On behalf of Mrs. Edgar, Mr. Hackett stated that the husband was evidently of wandering tendencies. He was apparently in the King Country, but no sooner was a summons sent to his last address than it was found he had moved to another town. Ho had communicated with his wife, but 110 money accompanied tho espistles. Mr. Kettle made an order for the payment. of 30s per week.
