WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL
'I'm: monthly meeting of the item at a, County Council was held yesterday. Present. : Messrs. A. Cochran (chairman), M. Lang, W. McChattie. F. Poynton, V. F. Kerr-Taylor, J. MeLeod. J. Greenwood, and F. Dye.
The Public Works engineer wrote declining to make payment on account of the Wade bridge, as only £200 worth of work had been done. He certified to that amount. In accordance with a request from the Silverdale Reform League, two members of the Council were appointed to assist the settlers to ask the Primo Minister to open the bridge. Permission was granted to the Devonport Borough Council to lay water-mains in Moan a Road, Bays-water." It was resolved that a deputation should wait upon the Prime Minister to discuss the Council's loan proposals, with a. view to the securing of an assurance that the interest on the money will not be raised. Intimation was received from Mr. A. R. Harris, M.P., that part of the Paremoreino Block vole would shortly be available to the Council.
