BUILDERS' CONFERENCE.

THE BUSINESS CONCLUDED.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Saturday. At the Builders' Conference yesterday a letter, which had been sent to the Hawke's Bay Association, was considered. The letter stated that the Under-Secretary of Public Works had insisted on. contractors for the erection of the post office insuring the building for the full period of "maintenance" (in that case, two months), and that the resident engineer contended that if the building were burned down during that period the contractor would be liable to reinstate it as a whole. The writer contended that lite contractors should not be liable for insurance after the building passed out of their hands. After discussion, it was decided to refer the matter to the executive for inquiry.

The executive was empowered to take what action it deemed necessary in regard to the registration of the Builders' Association.

This concluded the business of the conference.
