CLYDESDALES FOR AUCKLAND
[FROM our. OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] «» London*, August 25. Mb. Walter P. Holmes, of Auckland, who is Home on a holiday, is now at Donaldfield. Bridge of Weir. He has bought a well-bred Clydesdale stallion which he will take to Okoroire, when ho returns next month. The stallion's name is Sir Wesley (16,092). bay, foaled in May, 1909, and bred by John Barr, of NewtonMearns. His sire is Sir Hugo (10,924) and dam Baroness Belle (26,047). Sir Wesley is ono of the 16 noted sans of Sir Hugo which were Hold at Glasgow on February 6, 1912, along with their sire. Tho average for the If) of all ages was £249 ss, and the prico paid for Sir Wesley on that occasion was 235 guineas. Sir Wesley is a hay horse, of true Clydesdale character, line flat hard flinty bones, grand big feet, beautifully-turned ankles, and a splendid mover. He was first and champion at New-ton-Mearns as a, yearling, and second at Erskine and Incilinnan Shows as a two-year-old.
