WANTED FOR .AN ENDOWMENT.
[BT TELEGRAPHSPECIAL CORRESPONDENT. ] _ ' Wellington, Wednesday. Residents of Te Kuiti have petitioned Parliament to acquire'an area of 5 427 acres of native land known as Pukenni No. 2 T. so that it may be made available for subdivision into residential. sites. As the land is practically in the heart of the borough, 'and can,' under its present title, fie held only for farming purposes, it is a block to "the progress of the town. The petitioners propose that tho land should be handed over to the borough as an endowment. The petition, which bears 118 signatures, was presented to the House of Representatives this afternoon by Mr. Wilson (Taumarunuij. . .' . 4
