. for TELEGRAPH CORRESPONDENT.] • Wellington, Wednesday. The question of the waste of trout caught at Lake Taupo crops up pretty well every •• year in Parliament. Mr. G; M. Thomson (Dunedin North) 2 asked a question about it to-day, and 1 the "fillister in Charge of Tourist and Health Resorts (Hon. R. H. Rhodes) replied that • there is already a smokehouse at Toka•C anu > u 'hich can be enlarged or considerably ''/:V proved if business increases. »So- far, i a owing to the fattiness of the fish, the curing experiments have not proved successful but it is hoped that the Department |g|'will be able to secure a thoroughly quali--A-fied fishcurer next season when the experiments will be renewed, and an effort ttade to place on the market fish which ,v.: -Would otherwise be wastcd« •'
