PAKURANGA HUNT.

THE END OF THE SEASON.

The tine: season has ended, nnd the; Point- ] to-point Steeplechase of tho Pakuranga Hunt Club will take plnco .it 2 p.m. on Saturday on tho property ot Mr. Isoao Gray, at Papa toot oe. An attractive programme lias been arranged, and a good view of the proceedings will be obtainable . from tho well-known hill on Mr. Gray's property. ; Prises have been, offered by the master (Mr. A. ! Bent) and Messrs. W. Soincrß, J. Dulton, and Ben. I Myers. A youths' point-to-point steeplechase has been included In tho events, and promises to provido a good contest. The last hunt of tho season took place at Greenmoimt, Bast Tajuaki, on Saturday, .and was much enjoyed. Hounds were thrown off on Curta'a property, but, no hare being found, wero taken on to Smalea's, where a, haro was put up. It don bled back on to Curta'a and Wvnyard's, and made thence on to Harris's, and then made a detour back to Wynyard's, and up the mountain, with hounds in hot pursuit. The hare was gradually being overhauled, when she was suddenly Been to spring up in, tho air, and fell back quite dead. The hounds wero thrown off apain on Clark's property, which was worked without avail, and a move was mado to Neil's, where a haro was soon afoot. Tho hunt was led into Burg-ham's, Crook's, E'ller&on'e, and Percy's properties, and tho quarry was still afoot when the followers began to turn for home. The thanks of the club are duo to tho neighbouring farmers, whose property was hunted, for a most enjoyable day's sport. The hounds, under Mr. Selby's guidance, did their part well. Mr. Alfred Harris, one of tho very oldest hunting followers in Auckland, was amongst tho Held. Amongst those following l wore Mewl am 08 Markham and Lay ton, Misses Sturges, White, Harris, and Blslwp, Messrs. Allan Bent (master), Selby (huntsman), Swaffleld, Eccles (whip), A. It Harris, Buchanan, VFyjiyard, Peacock, Bullock Webster, Bon. Myers, "Orierson, W. Dal ton, Tim. Harris, Bishop, and amnion! Amongst thoso driving were: Mrs. Cunnold and Mrs. Smales. Miss Hellaby, Mr. Hodsou and party, and Air. and Mrs. Short.
