BILLIARDS.
NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY F. VALENTINE. At the Amateur Sports Club last evening, Mr. F. Valentino met Mr. J. Cooko in tho concluding session of tho final of the New Zealand amateur billiards championship. The game resulted in a victory for Mr. Valentino by 129 points, the winner scoring 1000 to his opponent's 871 points. The winner's best breaks were 58, 57, 40, 50, 20, 40, and 45, and tho loser's best were 33, 30, and 41. At tho conclusion of the game, tho championship medal, presented by the British Billiard Association, was handed to Mr. Valentine by Mr, V. Hackett, chairman of committees.
