0,-ho New Zealand ladies' hockey tournament was continued to-day in lino weather, the matches being played at St. Albans Park. The grounds, however, we not as good as those at Sydenham Park, tho grass being-much too long in places. Tho attendance of spectators was again rood. The matches for the day resulted:— B Section: Canterbury, four goals, beat' Buller, nil; Auckland, two goals, drew with Wellington, two; Wanganui, four goals, beat West Coast, one. A. Section: Canterbury B, two goals, beat Taranaki, nil; Wairarapa, one goal, heat Nelson, nil; Poverty Bay, two goals, beat it an aw a tu, one.

St. Albans Park, ■where Auckland and Wellington played, was verv bumpy, making good hockey impossible. The game was very ragged, penalties being frequently given. Auckland had tho best of the game, but wretched shooting and failure of the forwards to follow up shots lost golden opportunities. At half-time tho score was ono all, the frame" up till then being Auckland's, hut Wellington got in many rushes after tho spo',l, and sorely pressed the Northerners' .backs.

Nelson has gone to piece, lor it was not expected that Wairarapa would do teat them. The winners, however, nlayed good da shiner hockey, and deserved their success. Manawatu put up a good fight against Povertv Bay, and it was only in the last few minutes the reds scored their winning goal.
